The Historic Ballroom
The magnificent ballroom at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten, built in 1870 based on designs by Friedrich Kayser, provides an impressive setting for unique events. Following its comprehensive restoration by David Clipperfield in 2012, carried out in accordance with historic preservation standards, the hall now shines in new splendor while retaining its distinctive character.
The Neo-Renaissance decorative elements and the historic wall design, based on a concept by Friedrich Thiersch, lend the room a special charm. Two magnificent chandeliers and stylish parquet flooring complete the elegant atmosphere.
A standout feature of the ballroom is its 120-square-meter skylight ceiling, which bathes the room in pleasant, natural light. This ceiling can be completely darkened as desired to adjust the lighting conditions to suit your event. The wraparound gallery invites guests to stroll during festive occasions such as balls and offers a magnificent view of the entire hall. Adjacent to the gallery is the Emporensaal, which is ideal as a lounge area for gala events or as additional space for your guests.
Through the large windows facing the Palm House, you can enjoy the view of Frankfurt’s green oasis, and from the Palm House terrace, you have direct access to a walking tour of the Palm House, whose collection of plants makes a visit there a special experience.
